It's Friday afternoon and I've got lots to do before I leave for Delhi on Sunday. Most of that "lots to do" is spending time with the friends that I have made here over the past several weeks.
I've not gotten to the blog for the past bit because ever since I've gotten back from the Sahara (and I wasn't going to write from there) I've been busy working on the brochures for the tour agency I've been working with, and honestly, after 12 hours of that in a day, I haven't really wanted to write more.
So this is actually just a quick check in. No story, no musings, and barely any room for digression, though I'm sure I'll find some way to squeeze some in as it seems I have a knack for it.
I may get to a longer post before I head to the airport and actually talk about some of the really great stuff that has gone on while I am here. Eventually I will. Let's just say though that it all comes down to people, and I'll keep introducing you to them as I can.
In the meantime, here's my favourite picture I've taken since the one of Noah and Jake crossing the covered bridge in New Brunswick.
It's also now gracing the front page of a brochure for a three day trip to Merzouga that is waiting to be printed up.
They say that pride comes before the fall, but honestly, in this case the fall nearly came first. We were on two trains of camels, dromedaries actually, as they only have the one hump. But who wants to take a dromedary ride into the Sahara. Sounds like a milk delivering autonomous robot. I was at the back of the first train, and twisted around to take this picture, just as we started down another dune. Well, apparently you need to hang on during these times, and it also helps to be looking in the direction you are going. That'd be strike one and two for me. Thankfully no strike three so I bumped but stayed aboard Ned. Yes, I named the 'camel' Ned.
Okay, so I misspoke. One story. And only a little digression. But now I gotta go as I've got a lunch date.
