A Pearl Before Swine

I've thought about titling my post on Budapest "A Tale of Two Cities". It is afterall, two cities, Buda, and Pest.

I thought of writing two separate entries one for each city/side of the Danube river that flows between them, and letting you decide which one takes first prize. I've even got drafts for each with the pictures laid out. Not fair though, as I've spent more time on the Pest side, so it would be incredibly imbalanced.

I thought about calling this blog "Three Walks and a Crawl" because I've taken three different "tip-based" walks offered by Hostel Culture. There was a brochure at the hostel I am staying at and I figured I'd just go with it. Thing is, I've done a whole lot of other walking besides the three organized walks, and there isn't much to share about the pub crawl part. Besides, I'm not sure which one would be Steve Guttenberg.

So I don't know what to title this blog entry. That may not be an issue for you at this point, but it is for me, as it's also a sign that I'm not really sure what to write about. Sure, that hasn't stopped me before. Normally I just charge in with the babbling and see where it takes us. The more or less astute of you will notice that it has not stopped me this time either.

I'm just not sure what to say, or how to organize the many pictures. I've been here for five full days now, and have seen a great deal, but somehow I feel like I need to get to the end of my time here before I can look back at it and write about it properly.

So perhaps that is what I will do. Maybe this is just a quick note to say I'll be back in a couple of days to write about Budapest.

Sure, that sounds good.

Here are some pictures in the meantime.

And who knows, you may see some or all of these again, but with some arguably useful words to go along with them.

I was born in 1971, the year of a pig. There is a sweatshirt somewhere that will testify to that. It's not my sweatshirt, I don't actually own a sweatshirt. Not that I don't sweat, I just do so in cotton, and these days merino wool.

Not the point. Just trying to explain who the swine is, as "Pearl of the Danube" is a nickname for Budapest and I didn't want anyone getting confused and thinking that I was the pearl and Budapest was the pig.

People at work would argue that I am not the pig. I'm just a rooster.

Anyway, another sunny day is happening outside, so I'm gonna go see what that's all about.
